My office window overlooks our

"My office window overlooks our front porch so I often see the delivery of our packages. I actually saw the delivery of the umbrella thrown from a short but significant distance onto our porch. The umbrella was packaged in a rather thinly padded envelope. Knowing how rough packages are treated in the mail I was disappointed that it wasn't packaged more carefully in a box. Umbrellas have mechanisms that can be bent or damaged so I opened the umbrella to inspect it. It was wrapped in a nice cellophane wrapper that could be resealed. Excellent. The umbrella itself came in a nice cover that had a pleat at the top that made it easy to open wider in order to remove and reinsert the umbrella. Good thinking! It was tied snugly with a strap with velcro (rather than a snap) that makes it easier to wrap up quickly after each use. Very good. The handle is smaller than my hand when I grip it - that would be the only flaw in the design that I can see. I'm 5. 5 and petite and it's even small for my hand. Still not a game changer. The umbrella pops open quickly with a push of a button on the handle, but, instead of having to reach up under to the top of the umbrella to close it, you just push the button on the handle to close it. Brilliant! Once the fabric is deflated there is a hard, flat piece of plastic on top of the umbrella that you use to push the handle down and snap it in place. It requires a firm push to get it snapped shut so the hard piece of plastic on top prevents the umbrella from being damaged. Because of the plastic on top you can use any sturdy object to push it down. The umbrella is made with strong metal workings and I poured water on the fabric and it rolled right off. It's very well made. I was impressed. I haven't used it in the rain or wind so I can't comment on that, but as strong and well made as the umbrella seems to be, I think it will do a great job for a fair price."

Strong enough for the Chicago wind

"I love this umbrella! I recently used it in heavy rain and I was fully covered and the umbrella managed to not flip. It even survived the Windy City! Every other umbrella has flipped on me but this one is very sturdy so seems like it’ll be durable. I also love the open and close button. It’s so convenient not struggling to get my wet umbrella closed afterwards."
